We are looking for an energetic, experienced Underwriting Assistant to join our UA team. The successful candidate will provide support to our underwriters through collaboration and performing a variety of administrative duties associated with the underwriting function.

How you will create impact:

  • Completing the entry of new business, endorsements and renewals into the system and issuing policies.
  • Training and mentoring less experienced staff, as well as assisting team lead or manager with workflow and creation of a team-oriented approach to meeting Regional and Corporate goals.
  • Ordering risk inspections for underwriters, as requested.
  • Preparing and maintaining basic file set up documents subject to the underwriter’s approval.
  • Obtaining additional information from Brokers as required by the Underwriter.

To join our team:

  • Minimum 2–3 years insurance industry experience, preferably commercial insurance.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) courses an asset.
  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
