The Associate Director Sales (ADS) will play an integral role within the Neuroscience Business Unit in Canada. The ASD will lead and develop a high performing and patient driven Sales Team. The ASD will be responsible for creating and maintaining a people valued culture within their team, shaping the sales strategy for the country aligned to the vision and goals of our Neuroscience Brands and leading sales planning and execution to ensure our commercial success.

Essential Functions

  • The Associate Sales Director will provide leadership of the Key Account Managers (KAM) team through:
    • Attracting, developing, and retaining high performing KAMs, fostering a culture of diversity, innovation, and teamwork.
    • Coach, train and develop Neuroscience Account Managers to build a strong, progressive, and motivated team through virtual and face-to-face interactions
    • Provide team leadership and demonstrates high ethical and performance standards
    • Provide verbal and written feedback on performance and development on a regular and timely basis, as observed through virtual and face-to-face interactions.
    • Review employee performance regularly and deal with any performance issues on a timely basis
  • Collaborate in the development of the Canadian Neuroscience Strategic and Tactical Plans and lead the implementation of the Plan including communication and providing direction to team
  • Lead the development, execution, and review of the cross functional integrated Territory Account Plans
  • Develop and implement comprehensive regional sales strategies to accelerate patient access to our transformative treatments, achieve revenue targets, expand market share, and enhance customer experience
  • Sets ambitious goals for team and self, and contributes to forecasting, Incentive plan optimization etc
  • Participate and/or lead Brand initiatives as required within the Neuroscience Franchise
  • Collaborate with cross functional Jazz Pharmaceuticals leaders (Market Access, Marketing, Training, Medical Affairs, Sales Force Effectiveness, and compliance) to achieve shared business objectives in a compliant manner
  • Analyze, interpret, and leverage data including sales analytics, CRM reports, business statistics and customer feedback that contributes to development of strategic brand plans and territory plans
  • Ensure the sales team promotes the company’s products for the approved indications using the most current company materials.
  • Maintain knowledge on the Canadian market access landscape in relation to our promoted therapeutic areas
  • Lead and develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders across Canada
  • Collaborate with the Oncology Sales leadership team to evolve the customer engagement framework/model and Account management excellence (incl identification of capabilities development/training, optimization of coaching tools, etc)
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the disease state, competitive landscape, and therapeutic management in each of our potential markets
  • Know and ensure compliance with applicable corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Extensive progressive commercial experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry in marketing and sales
  • Experience successfully leading a sales/KAM team
  • Experience in Key Account Management
  • Experience in Specialty Medicine (Neuroscience is an asset)
  • Proven track record in achieving superior results, change management and Exemplary leadership skills
  • Proficient IT skills in all business-related packages such as MS Office
  • Experience in the utilization of CRM tools
  • Understanding of application of selling models/skills and Key account management excellence
  • Successful product launch experience
  • Academic and/or Institutional experience
  • Exceptional prioritization capabilities
  • Extensive travel required
  • A valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Proficient in English and French

Required/Preferred Education And Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred

This role requires approximately 30 - 50% travel.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz/Celator, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz’s Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
