Reporting to the Office Manager, the successful applicant will support the day to day operations of the main reception centre including greeting all persons entering the home, switchboard operations as well as marketing, administrative task completion and clerical duties in our long term care home. The successful candidate will support duties of the Nursing Unit Clerks on an as needed basis.

The successful candidate will support duties of the Nursing Unit Clerks on an as needed basis.
Qualifications
- Previous reception experience required; long term care experience is an asset.
- Must be flexible, self-directed and able to function in a fast paced environment.
- Able to maintain a positive attitude while under pressure.
- Must have well developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Outlook is a must.
- Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, time management skills and be well organized.
- Formal training from a Medical Office Assistant program from an accredited facility is required.
- Participates in month end task completion and reporting.
- Records maintenance and filing; personnel files, resident records, minutes, forms, other filing as assigned.
- Markets the home including greeting, providing tours and information.
- Provides support to the accounting personnel.
- Supports all administrative duties including copying, typing (40+ words per minutes), arranges courier service, updating lists, mail outs/postage, room bookings, stationary and other tasks per reception duty outline.
- Provide reception service to all residents, staff and visitors to the home; answering multi-line switchboard, monitoring entrance door access.
- Provides support to the unit clerks with medical administrative tasks as required/vacation coverage; charts for new admissions, health card verification/renewal, nursing supplies/ordering and inventory, physician orders, staffing replacement, medical records maintenance; knowledge of Point Click Care is an asset.
- Supports all general administration tasks; additional duties as assigned.
