Role Overview

The Demographic Analyst supports both internal tool development and client-facing services, with a strong focus on data accuracy, projections, and improving analytical methodologies. This role contributes to the ongoing enhancement of Baragar’s software solutions by developing population and enrolment projections, refining workflows, and providing responsive client support.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

  • Reports to the Data Analytics Manager Coordinates with all other members of the Analytics Team
  • Close working relationship with the Data Warehouse Team and GIS Team for the maintenance and production of data for Baragar software updates, the Research and Development Team for updates to internal and external tools, and the Customer Support Team for client support
  • Serves as the primary contact for:
    • Demographic Dynamics (DD) software support
    • Reviewing projection assumptions with clients
    • Investigation and resolution of client issues related to DD
Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze demographic and enrolment data
  • Develop and refine population and enrolment projections
  • Test and troubleshoot DD software
  • Assist with internal tool development and testing
  • Communicate with clients through written and verbal channels
  • Create and manage Jira entries and project documentation
  • Conduct research on methodology improvements and process innovation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support data integrity and software enhancements Support other internal teams as required

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Efficiency with Windows OS, file management, and Microsoft Office suite

Required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Demography, Statistics, Geography, Data Science)
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a related professional work environment

Highly Valued Assets

  • GIS Certificate or related experience
  • Strong MS Excel skills, including VBA
  • Experience with:
    • Data transformation tools (e.g., Alteryx)
    • Client training (in-person or virtual)
    • Technical writing or documentation
    • Product specification and planning
    • Educational administration or planning
    • Programming, AI, or Machine Learning
  • Background in statistical methods or demographic projections
  • Experience leading small projects or teams
