Responsibilities
- Create and implement awareness programs to educate teams on data and AI compliance
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide policy frameworks and governance structures
- Design internal control systems to detect and mitigate compliance risks
- Plan and lead compliance audits and risk assessments across data environments
- Maintain thorough documentation of policies, reports, and audit outcomes
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with legal, risk, IT, and business teams
- Communicate regulatory updates and policy changes clearly to all stakeholders
- Generate comprehensive compliance reports for executive leadership
- Monitor evolving laws and regulations impacting data governance and AI
- Manage incident response protocols and coordinate remediation plans
- Identify and resolve gaps in current compliance practices and controls
- Participate in strategic discussions on ethical AI implementation and governance
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or governance in data or AI-focused settings
- Strong understanding of global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Highly skilled in translating complex regulations into practical policy and actionable guidance
- Expert in cross-functional collaboration and enterprise-wide policy implementation
- Proficient with data governance tools, audit platforms, and compliance tracking systems
- Experience with data classification methodologies, metadata management, and data lineage tracking
- Proven history of leading risk mitigation and governance initiatives in complex organizations
- Comfortable working with legal, privacy, HR, risk, and IT stakeholders at all levels
- Comprehensive knowledge of ethical AI principles and their regulatory implications
- Hands-on experience developing compliance documentation, frameworks, and training programs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse teams and senior leadership
- 3-4 days in the office
