Project Control Officer:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Project Control Officer for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.


Project Control Officer - Job Description:

The Project Control Officer will be involved in the Risk Modelling Project, which focuses on the design, validation, and deployment of new capital risk models on a cloud infrastructure. This role requires strong project financial management skills and collaboration with various teams to ensure effective execution of project mandates.


Project Control Officer - Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial management activities such as project budget forecasting and payment processing.
  • Create financial Project Change Requests to allocate costs correctly.
  • Update financial information for Executive Steering Committee documents.
  • Administrate SharePoint for the Collection Solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT management, security advisory, and operational risk teams globally.
  • Develop and execute effective communication models for managing vulnerabilities and control gaps.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and maturity within programs.
  • Ensure adherence to established process flows for risk mitigation.
  • Schedule, oversee execution, and manage deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Support Delivery Manager/Project Manager in maintaining project momentum.
  • Document and cost project activities using Microsoft Project.
  • Maintain project files, including Risk, Actions, and Issues log (RAID).


Project Control Officer - Mandatory Skills:

  • 5+ years of PCO experience in financial institutions working on project financials.
  • 2+ years of recent experience with a top 5 Canadian bank (Scotiabank preferred).
  • 2+ years of recent experience using Clarity (CA-PPM).
  • 4+ years of experience with MS Project.
  • Strong experience with MS Office Suite (proficient in Excel).


Project Control Officer – Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Bank experience preferred.
  • PMP certification.
  • Previous experience with risk regulatory projects.
  • Bilingual – Spanish.


Project Control Officer – Assignment Length:

This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
