About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Architect - Institutional to join our Client's dynamic team in either Vancouver and/or Vancouver Island, British Columbia. With a strong focus on designing impactful institutional environments, this role provides an opportunity to lead the architectural development of hospitals, clinics, and other educationalfacilities that promote patient well-being, operational efficiency, and innovative care delivery.
As a key member of this team, you will work closely with healthcare providers and project stakeholders, ensuring that each design meets the highest standards of quality, functionality, and sustainability. Your expertise will drive the design process from conceptual development through to completion, guiding teams in producing solutions that meet the needs of both healthcare staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and planning of healthcare projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, and healthcare providers, to deliver comprehensive design solutions.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure smooth execution and client satisfaction.
- Oversee the preparation of architectural documents, drawings, and specifications in alignment with healthcare design standards.
- Stay informed on the latest trends in healthcare design, sustainability, and building technologies.
- Ensure adherence to AIBC guidelines and all applicable building codes and regulations.
- Conduct site visits, review construction progress, and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Architect with 7+ years of experience in institutional projects.
- AIBC Registered
- Proven expertise in educational and institutional facility design, including knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects from concept to completion.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
- A passion for designing environments that enhance the quality of care and support innovative healthcare delivery models.
