Sinai Health is looking for a Clinical Analyst II to support our Digital Health department at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.
The Clinical Analyst II works collaboratively with hospital stakeholders to gather user requirements, perform workflow analyses, identify opportunities for process re-design/improvement and design systems to effect that improvement. The role also works collaboratively with other Digital Health team members to ensure that the hospital’s clinical applications are managed and maintained in accordance with IS policies and procedures. The Clinical Analyst II is expected to affect resource coordination and provide mentorship in small to medium size IM/IT projects.

In This Role You Will
- Work collaboratively with clinicians, defines user and system requirements, and designs/ delivers application solutions to fulfill those requirements, with the underlying goals of improving the quality, safety and the operational effectiveness of Sinai Health clinical information systems
- Analyze workflows and processes related to system use, and makes recommendations for improved efficiencies
- Provide leadership in medium and large IM/IT projects and initiatives
- Review user and system requirements and system design documents and associates those with corresponding system design and configuration parameters
- Provide leadership and guidance in defining principles, policies and processes for developing and modifying system dictionaries and configuration parameters
- Act as a liaison between clinical end-users, stakeholders, vendor(s), and other related systems users
- Provide leadership and guidance in the development of clinical applications (including EPR and ancillary systems) with respect to business and functional requirements
- Work collaboratively with project teams, system educators and end users to ensure successful implementation of new EPR applications, enhancements to existing software and software version upgrades and improvements
- Provide leadership and guidance to system implementation committees and working groups, and supports education workshops and seminars as required
- Provide leadership and guidance into the planning of system implementations, upgrades and patches; works collaboratively with the team to ensure all enhancements, upgrades and patches are thoroughly tested before installation in the production environment
- Provide guidance in the development and on-going maintenance of user documentation for clinical applications; provides support and guidance to system educators and assists in the development of training materials for clinical champions and end-users
- Participate and provide guidance as a subject matter expert in system go-lives; performs root cause analyses and issue resolution
- Provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation and maintenance of downtime processes and procedures
- Foster an environment of innovation; provides coaching and mentoring to other team members
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required
Mandatory
- Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Health Science, Health Informatics, Business or Computer Science from an accredited educational institution
- 5 years of experience as an analyst or other IM/IT related position
- 3 years of related experience in the health care industry
- Applicants with proven equivalent and related training and experience may also be considered
- Current or previous member of a licensed health professional or with current or prior certification in a related field
- Proven, recent and related training and experience also an asset
- Recent experience working with clinicians to collect user and system requirements for the configuration and implementation of the Cerner suite of applications including but not limited to Powerchart, Surginet, Clinical Documentation and Orders
- Previous experience using EPIC system electronic tools
- Experience in application testing including the creation of scripts for unit, system and integration testing
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to organize, prioritize and complete tasks independently within established time constraints
- Project management skills and experience
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize competing workload demands
- Sound knowledge of and experience in systems analysis and design
- Demonstrated experience in clinical workflow analysis, workflow documentation and clinical process improvement in the context of system implementation
- Strong knowledge of change control, quality and system performance methods and metrics
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint)
- Outstanding presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to establish and build effective working relationships, functioning both independently as well as part of a team
- Participates in improvement projects and on assigned committees to provide content expertise
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
- Ability to work shifts outside of the standard 9am-5pm on occasion, including week nights and weekends to support system go-lives, upgrades and down times
