Specialist I, Procurement

Cameco has a great opportunity available for an enthusiastic, motivated professional to be a part of a diverse procurement team. You will be responsible for supporting all of Cameco’s Canadian operations on a temporary full-time basis.
In this role, you will:
- Source a range of materials, equipment and services and interact closely with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to value creation from procurement activities, acting as a service provider to our partners at our Canadian operations, as well as participate in the continuous improvement of our processes and procedures
- Source best overall value to meet internal customer needs, generate and expedite purchase orders in an SAP environment, develop and execute contracts, and manage vendor on-time delivery
- Conduct request for quotation (RFQ) and request for proposals (RFP) as needed
- Identify and resolve blocked invoices to ensure efficiency in the procure-to-pay process
- Assist in onboarding new suppliers and maintaining supplier databases
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, procurement policies, and regulatory requirements
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Required:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or a related field
- Up to three years of experience in the supply chain management procurement field
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
Recommended:
- Previous SAP experience
