Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) - Off Road HET (Journeyperson)

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

We are recruiting for Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanics who are currently wanting to relocate to EDMONTON, Alberta

Relocation to EDMONTON, AB is the responsibility of the candidates

Job Type Full Time, Permanent

Schedule 10+ Hours per day (day shift), 5 & 2, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location EDMONTON, AB. Relocation is the responsibility of the candidate.

Requirements

• Full Complement of Hand Tools
• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
  
  
  

Pre-employment

• Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) Qualifications

• Must be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) with Red Seal - Off Road or equivalent
• Must have between five (5) and ten (10) years' Journeyperson experience
• Off Road HDM experience is REQUIRED
• Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu is REQUIRED
• Experience with CAT Scrapers is Beneficial
• Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
• Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED

• Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
• Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
• Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
