Salary: CA$120,000 - CA$140,000 per year
Contract type: Full time

BC Place is where unforgettable experiences happen—from packed stadium concerts and major league sports to global summits and community celebrations. We’re looking for a sharp, savvy Director, Events and Guest Experience to elevate our events and guest experience from great to unforgettable.

Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the Director, Events and Guest Experience, will be at the heart of it all—shaping how events are delivered and how every guest experiences the magic of BC Place. You'll lead a talented team and collaborate across departments to ensure seamless execution, next-level service, and high-impact results.

What You Will Do:

• Orchestrating Events

Work closely with clients, event teams, and internal stakeholders to plan and deliver world-class events. Leverage our Momentus (EBMS) system to manage every detail—logistics, costing, service orders, billing—and ensure everything runs like clockwork.

• Optimizing Staffing

Coordinate with Event Managers and cross-functional teams to develop effective, timely staffing plans. Anticipate security and operational needs based on each event’s unique footprint.

• Leading the Team

Inspire, mentor, and lead the Events and Guest Experience team. Foster a culture of service, accountability, and continuous improvement—where people love what they do and strive to do it better.

• Elevating the Guest Experience

Develop and refine guest service strategies, protocols, and training. Champion initiatives that raise the bar on how guests and clients experience BC Place from entry to encore.

• Driving Strategic Initiatives

Play a key role on the leadership team—aligning event strategy with organizational goals, identifying emerging opportunities, and ensuring every event supports our broader vision.

• Delivering on Commitments

Ensure all contractual obligations for event delivery are met. Proactively manage timelines, track performance, and resolve challenges before they become issues.

• Watching the Bottom Line

Monitor financial performance of events, evaluate ROI, and help ensure that every event is both impactful and profitable.

• Representing BC Place

Be a visible ambassador at industry events, client meetings, and community forums—promoting our brand and building strong external relationships.

• Staying Ahead of the Curve

Track industry trends, technology, and best practices to keep BC Place at the forefront of event innovation.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field
  • 7–10 years of experience in large-scale event planning and venue operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven success managing high-profile events in stadiums, arenas, or similar venues
  • Inspirational leadership style with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Solid understanding of event technology and industry trends
  • Familiarity with event management systems like Momentus (EBMS/EventBooking), Ticketmaster, or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of local permitting, safety, and regulatory frameworks
  • A genuine passion for sports, live entertainment, and creating unforgettable experiences

  • Hybrid work model that offers flexibility for eligible positions
  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive health coverage to wellness programs, we’ve got you covered from day one
