Are you a registered Occupational Therapist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Community and Long Term Care Services department.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization and practicing in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, the occupational therapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team providing long term care occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients (‘the client’) and/or their caregivers/staff to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The occupational therapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.

This role supports Parkside, Jubilee and Rainbow Lodge.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 07:30 to 15:30

Parkside Intermediate Care Home is a one storey facility that houses 58 residents in single occupancy rooms; each room has its own washroom. There are three separate wings, the 300 and 400 wing house 22 rooms each and the 200 wing has 14 rooms. At the end of the 300 and 400 wing there is a private sitting area for residents/family. Recreation Therapy is provided on site, which provides activities such as hymn-sing, school visits with the elderly, choral groups.
