Primary Objective

We are seeking an experienced freelance translator/proofreader to join our roster of professionals who contribute to the development of our products. Our learning materials are used in classrooms globally to inspire critical thinking and leadership development.

The freelance translator/proofreader will be responsible for translating our products and related learning materials from English into alternative languages, as well as reviewing and refining existing translations to ensure accuracy, clarity, tone, and consistency.

The successful candidates will work closely with the Ivey Publishing Product & Publishing Team to uphold our high standards for translated products.

Key Result Areas

• Translate Ivey Publishing learning materials from English into alternative languages while maintaining accuracy, clarity, tone, and consistency.
• Review, proofread, edit and refine the translations to ensure linguistic accuracy, proper grammar, punctuation, and cultural relevance.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and tone across translated materials, following Ivey Publishing’s Style and Tone guidelines.
• Provide structured feedback on translation quality and contribute to improving translation workflows.
• Work closely with the Ivey Publishing Product & Publishing Team to finalize translated materials, addressing queries and revisions in a timely manner.
• Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality translation standards.

Required Experience

• Fluency in English and native proficiency in at least one of the key languages, including but not limited to Simplified Chinese, Arabic or Portuguese.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in translation, proofreading, or editing in an academic or business context.
• Familiarity with business and management terminology to ensure accuracy and relevance in translated content.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in terminology, tone, and style.
• Experience working with translation tools such as DeepL, Trados, or similar software is preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently while following Ivey Publishing’s guidelines.
