Chief Financial Officer

Our client as a well established business in the marine project sector in the Campbell River area of BC. It is an welcoming, team focused work environment, with the business recently completing an expansion of their facility and output capacity, while remaining busy with long term project contracts.

The CFO will be responsible for the overall financial strategy, planning, and management of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will lead the finance, accounting, and compliance functions, and play a key role in strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
• Develop financial strategies aligned with business goals and marine industry trends.
• Manage financial risk, treasury, and cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting staff.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support operational efficiency and profitability.
• Support capital investment decisions and potential financing activities.
• Collaborate with other senior leaders to drive business performance.
• Other as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA Designation
• Minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, ideally in construction, operations and/or marine sectors.
• Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies for business stainability and growth.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
• Contract accounting, working capital management, and bank/compliance reporting experience.
