The Specialist, Strategic Priorities is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and measurement of marketing strategies that drive growth in our key priority areas: Local, Multicultural, and Win In Fresh. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Priorities - Full Service, this role leads initiatives that differentiate our grocery business through innovative approaches to these strategic priorities.

Here’s Where You’ll Be Focusing

  • Supports the development and deployment of comprehensive marketing strategies for Local, Multicultural, and Fresh initiatives aligned with the broader Organizational strategy, while maintaining brand identities for Sobeys and Safeway
  • Supports mid-long-term strategic plans that establish clear priorities over 6–12 months
  • Supports pilot projects from concept to execution, analyzing results and scaling successful initiatives across the network, partnering with Banner/Category teams to embed
  • Manages the workback schedules and approved invoices for their given projects
  • Prepares for and co-lead meetings with key stakeholders, and other recurring meetings
  • Collaborates with the Corporate Marketing CoE to shape creative direction &media planning
  • Advocates for marketing priorities and ensures they are integrated into banner plans
  • Supports and develops data-driven marketing strategies for promotional activities
  • Analyzes quarterly scorecards to measure progress
  • Champions a high-performance team culture focused on disciplined planning and execution

What You Have To Offer

  • Undergraduate Degree in a related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong background in retail marketing, product or category marketing
  • Proven track record in developing, managing and executing marketing strategies
  • Possesses the unique ability to build amazing strategies and execute them flawlessly
  • Creative mindset with a drive to implement meaningful change
  • Strong business acumen - instinctively understands requirements for driving growth
  • Excellent prioritization skills to manage multiple initiatives effectively
  • Collaborates effectively with varying stakeholders
