The Position:

We are seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic nuclear team. The Mechanical Designer will work directly with Mechanical Design Lead and Design teams to ensure projects are met on budget. The incumbent will work with the management and department personnel to deliver the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Perform engineering calculations for materials strength, speeds, and force related to designs
  • Develop equipment drawings and bills of materials using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Analyze designs for compliance with standards like OSHA and CE
  • Reverse engineer components using precision measurement tools
  • Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, machining techniques, finishes, etc
  • Communicate design changes and task progress with team leads and management
  • Collaborate with fabricators, machinists, toolmakers and electricians in the completion of equipment and solving problems


What We’re Looking For:

  • An educational background in Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline
  • Experience in mechanical design utilizing SolidWorks (or equivalent)
  • Experience in an automation environment is a strong asset
  • Experience with custom tooling for the nuclear industry is a strong asset
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, N299 and NQA-1 is an asset
