What You’ll Do

  • Ensure a facilitative, responsive, proactive, and service-oriented approach to providing human resources services and guidance in a manufacturing environment
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to management and both unionized and non-unionized employees
  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment for assignment group(s) in both unionized and non-union groups
  • Responsible for onboarding and integration of employees into the company including conducting new hire orientation
  • Conduct exit interviews and assist in offboarding employees
  • Perform updates on HRIS and provide timely HR reports
  • Maintain HR records including employee files, organizational charts, headcounts, and training
  • Provide support to supervisor and managers on employee issues including performance and attendance management, investigations, and disciplinary issues
  • Support ISO45001 initiatives and participate in any HR-related audits for any company compliance requirements
  • Support benefit claim management
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
  • Initiate, recommend, implement, and or support continuous improvement strategies and initiatives
  • Lead and organize employee relations events and programs
  • Provide HR team support, including coordinating meetings, handling invoices, and processing payments
  • Perform other duties and lead or assist other projects and initiatives as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • University degree or Post-Graduate certificate in Human Resources Management
  • Prior HR Generalist experience preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to counsel and provide conflict resolution
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple activities and projects occurring simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills, high degree of confidentiality and discretion is a must
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools and Outlook, experience with Dayforce and Success Factors is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • CHRP designation helpful, payroll experience an asset
