We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal to join our legal team in downtown Moncton. The ideal candidate will play an essential role in supporting our lawyers by conducting research, preparing legal documents, managing case files, and maintaining communication with clients and court personnel. This position requires strong multi tasking skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a solid understanding of legal procedures. Duties

  • Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as CanLii to gather relevant case law and statutes.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, documents, and witness materials.
  • Manage case files and ensure all documentation is organized and up-to-date.
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain client records and case management systems.
  • Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment is considered a strong asset.
  • Paralegal diploma, legal assistant certification, or relevant post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Proficient with legal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic filing systems.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred and considered a valuable asset.
  • Familiarity with FileVine or similar document management systems is a plus.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to analyze and synthesize information effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient in clerical duties with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Effective written communication skills are essential for drafting clear and concise documents.

Job Type: Full-time
