Your contribution!
Reporting to the Manager – Operations & Maintenance, Hydro Electric, You will be responsible for providing all cooking and cleaning support for the Toba staff and contractors staying at the camp (lodge). You will liaise with staff to identify and arrange weekly food orders based on the size of the group that will be staying at the lodge each night.
You will make up rooms and may be asked to wash bed linen. Additionally, you will clean all areas of the lodge, including bathrooms once a week, and will ensure that the domestic quarters remain tidy. This role will require you to work a scheduled shift of typically 8 days (subject to variation based on requirements) as part of a shift rotation with other cooks.

Compensation for roles at Innergex varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, and level of experience. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
In the spirit of pay transparency we are excited to share the base salary for the position is $28/hour- $35/hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired by Innergex, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.

Your day-to-day!
- Prepare and provide cooked meals for all staff and contractors staying at the lodge
- Clear, wash and put away all utensils, crockery, cooking implements and additional supplies
- Provide packed lunches when advised
- Smart meal planning to minimize waste
- Dispose of waste in line with the re-cycling policy
- Organize kitchen areas and put away incoming food order
- Liaise with staff to understand the numbers in the lodge and order appropriate food items for the upcoming week
- Allocate rooms to incoming guests, ensure that clean bed linen and towels are available and make up the beds ready for arrival
- Cleaning: Keep all aspects of the lodging facility clean and tidy.
- Assuring that a ‘deep’ cleaning of all areas of the lodge is done once a week
- Vacuum all areas, clean bathrooms, dust surfaces etc
- Upon check-out of guests, ensure bed linens and towels are property washed and sanitized prior to the arrival of the new guest
- Achieve status as level 1 authorized worker – being trained to be competent to safely walk around the facility and to drive on site
- Comply with all safety and operational procedures
- High School Diploma
- Culinary certification
- First Aid Certificate – Preferred
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a professional cooking environment as cook – e.g. camps, ski lodges, restaurants.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Appropriate education and able to operate a computer for email, timecard and expense report submissions, ordering food etc.
- The position is based at the Toba Facility.
- This position is a S2 level
- This is a full time temporary position.
