Role Overview:

The Shift Supervisor adds value to our Customers and our Co-Workers by overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse during assigned shifts. The Shift Supervisor plays a key role in leading and motivating the warehouse team, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate and support the warehouse team to maintain high morale and develop high potential team members; Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals/ daily priorities, expectations, and updates; Maintain a presence in the warehouse and promote company policies and procedures, and model company values; address performance issues promptly and implement corrective actions
  • Operations Management: Oversee all warehouse activities including hiring and scheduling of staff, timesheet approvals, filing incident reports etc.; Ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time; Monitor and evaluate team performance to ensure the warehouse team achieves productivity targets, providing feedback, reviews, coaching and development as needed
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment; Conduct regular safety audits and ensure required training and onboarding occurs and is tracked for the team
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the warehouse team, management and other departments to ensure smooth operations; Provide regular updates and reports to the Manager - DC
  • Problem Solving: Resolve operational and customer related issues and challenges efficiently; Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency

Recommended Qualifications:

Knowledge/ Skill/ Ability Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to consistently model the character qualities listed above
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong problem-solving & prioritization skills
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (reach truck, forklift etc) safely and efficiently an asset
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • English reading and writing skills
  • Good computer skills with the ability to read and use reports in Word, Excel and PowerPoint


Experience & Education:

  • MHE 3-5 years previous warehouse and leadership experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience developing and implementing process improvements
  • Logistics experience an asset
  • MHE Certification required or the ability to obtain within three months of employment. On-site training will be provided if required by the position


Physical Demands/ Working Conditions:

  • This position may be required to assist in any role in the warehouse as needed to meet productivity targets
  • Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively
