Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), This is a fixed term replacement post. This is an unrivalled opportunity to work in a fully redesigned Geriatric Medicine Service, including duties in a new hospital with a full range of support services, working with a large group of NHS colleagues in a very impressive modern facility. This post will be based in the QEUH, with some rehabilitation ward cover at Gartnavel General Hospital. This posts will include acute receiving duties for older people on a 1:8 rotational basis at the QEUH with onsite post receiving ward from 8am to 8pm and out of hours on call from home. This posts will cover acute assessment, short stay and rehabilitation wards plus weekly geriatric clinics. Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register for geriatric medicine or general medicine. Those trained in the UK should have CCT or CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration). Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. Applicants must be capable of working independently with strong team working skills to lead multi-disciplinary team meetings. Experience in complex discharge planning is desirable. Applicants will provide clinical supervision for resident doctors.
