YOUR ROLE
Responsible for planning the fleet movements, prioritization of customer loads, service compliance within their region, profitability effects of the fleet utilization and determining the amount of utilization of outside carriers. Supervise the customer service personnel for the network segment in their region as well as brokerage personnel tied to fleet utilization and the fleet managers assigned to their regional trucks. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

YOUR ROLE

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Match available fleet power with available loads that are currently committed to meet service requirements for the network and outside customers on a current and projected basis. Ensure that the cost effectiveness of the fleet, including repositioning costs, is balanced against the cost of purchasing power from outside carriers on a weekly or daily basis.
- Responsible for ensuring utilization of the lowest cost alternative for every load that is run in order to maximize the profitability of each run and thus the overall fleet for each day.
- Ensure that the customer service response that CEVA Ground gives to the internal CEVA FM customer and the outside customers is timely, accurate and complete in every instance.
- Determine which additional loads can be accepted and serviced within the fleet capacity and help determine the revenue levels that are needed to move the additional loads when they are accepted, ensuring the profitability of the move.
- Oversee the actions of the Fleet Manager group within their region to ensure that the fleet is consistently available, positioned to be able to accommodate the most profitably run loads within the system and are in compliance with the DOT and customer requirements.
- After reviewing the loads that are committed to and available in the system and determining the best utilization of the CEVA Ground fleet, determine which loads need to be contracted to 3rd party carriers. In conjunction with the brokerage personnel, determine any re-planning necessary, based on the cost and availability of 3rd party carrier power.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or GED; Preferred: Bachelors or Master’s degree
- 3-5 years technical level experience in industry.
- 2 years fleet management
- Some professional certification may be required in this position.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to manage and maintain departmental administrative tasks such as accounting, reporting and recordkeeping in accordance with internal policies and state and federal regulations.
- PC literate. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
- Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds and ability effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and customers.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. Strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience.
- Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated success in problem solving through use of data and information metrics and improvement to performance process. Analytical skills, financial understanding, ability to prioritize based on multiple criteria.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and make formal presentations in meetings and training environments.
