Status: Permanent – Full time

Responsibilities

  • Develop competitive service and pricing analysis to establish new pricing that meets revenue and contribution objectives
  • Develop new strategies, programs or service offerings to expand participation in relevant markets
  • Identify opportunities for growth by working directly with prospective and existing customers
  • Work closely with internal departments to support business development goals and objectives
  • Negotiate rates with customers and revenue divisions with connecting carriers
  • Responsible for the promotion of the assigned railroads through various trade and connecting carrier channels
  • Maintain pricing administration and related documentation processes, ensuring that valid prices are in place and available to all parties who may require them
  • Publish prices; resolve pricing, assessorial, and payment-related disputes
  • Lead the internal and external engagement of G&W executives with an account base by establishing appropriate top-to-top relationships where needed
  • Achieve revenue, profitability, volume targets for assigned accounts and markets
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers and pricing, marketing, and operating representatives of other railroads
  • Prepare annual revenue budgets and project proposals, analyze variances, and manage costs
  • Manage other projects and perform other duties as assigned
  • Drive industrial development opportunities to completion through the use of company support teams
  • Travel within the Province of Quebec with some occasional cross border US travel

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; master's degree in marketing preferred
  • At least ten years of marketing management experience; five years of experience in the railroad industry preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft software, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Development and experience with pricing, tariffs, and commercial regulations within the railroad industry
  • Excellent quantitative skills
  • Proven record of resourcefulness
  • Ability to navigate both local and corporate relationships to identify decision makers
