We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team in Chatham. This role is essential in ensuring our plant meets daily production targets, maintains operational efficiency, and supports long-term automation strategies. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing control systems, supporting production teams, and driving innovation through automation and AI technologies.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with medium and high voltage equipment in a 24/7 production environment.
- Proficiency in Foxboro DCS, Allen Bradley PLCs, MODBUS, and Multilin configurations.
- Experience tuning PID loops and using Maximo or similar CMMS.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of plant processes and interdependencies to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain OT network cybersecurity best practices.
- Analyze process data and recommend optimizations in throughput, yield, energy, and cost.
- Evaluate and manage changes to control systems (PLC, DCS, PI).
- Commission instrumentation and program PLC/DCS systems for new projects.
- Maintain and upgrade Foxboro DCS and Allen Bradley PLC systems.
- Manage load shed programs, VFDs, and related systems.
- Drive the use of AI tools to optimize production and assess cost-benefit for implementation.
- Mentor department personnel and support the Instrumentation & Electrical (IE) group.
- Maintain technical documentation: loop diagrams, functional narratives, single-line drawings.
- Conduct field reviews and ensure proper maintenance of metering, grounding, and bonding systems.
- Travel to site as required.
