CNL's Historic Waste Program Management Office is in Port Hope, Ontario's beautiful and historic community. What will you be doing!
- Implementing project management tools, methods, and best practices to plan and manage projects in a way that aligns with the expectations of stakeholders and meets business needs.
- Ensuring that all designs and work plans incorporate safety, health, and environmental considerations.
- Ensuring project incorporation and compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations and standards.
- Identifying staffing needs, seeking appropriate approvals, and adjusting staffing levels as appropriate.
- Overseeing quality assurance within the department.
- Coordinating interactions with the local community or provincial/national stakeholders on matters of considerable sensitivity.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
- Education
- A degree or diploma from a college/university relevant to project management, engineering, or equivalent, and a track record for leading large-scale, high value/high complexity projects from investigation, definition, budgeting and design through to completion of construction - preferably in a construction and/or radiological remediation environment.
- More than 10 years of project experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in remediation and/or construction.
- Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of directly relevant experience in a formal Supervisor and/or Management role.
- Demonstrated management of large teams and multi-million dollar budgets through large and complex multi-stakeholder environments.
- Demonstrated experience in all of the typical phases of a project lifecycle (e.g., Concept Development, Project Definition, Detailed Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Decommissioning).
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Knowledge of remediation projects and processes.
- Ability to manage civil projects.
- Knowledge of construction safety measures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the nuclear industry.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
- Frequent field site visits will be required, depending on the project's stage. These visits will necessitate the use of all applicable personal protective equipment.
- Field visits may require entering a radiological work area.
- Domestic and/or international business travel may be required.
