Chard Development Ltd. (“Chard”) is an award-winning real estate development firm based in British Columbia, specializing in urban real estate projects in Metro Vancouver and Greater Victoria. Since 2006, Chard has delivered close to 1,600 homes to the people of BC, including market and below-market purpose-built rental developments, attainable homeownership opportunities and market condos – with over 3,000 more in the development and/or planning phase. The company has been awarded the Provincial Award for Excellence in Housing Affordability and recognized by the Urban Development Institute with awards for Best Purpose-Built Market Rental (High Rise) and Best Non-Market Housing. They were also the first to bring strata office and light industrial space to Mount Pleasant and have more than 265,000 sq ft of commercial development in the pipeline, along with two hotel developments.


Chard continues to diversify – both geographically and in terms of product offering – through strategic partnerships and out-of-the-box creativity, and to seek opportunities for vertical integration. In 2023, the company established Chard Property Group to provide property and asset management services to their growing portfolio of income producing properties. As a result of this growth, the position of Director, Property Management has been created.


Reporting to the VP, Property Management, the Director will take on a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day property operations and more broadly, building out the property management function for a fast-paced, high growth multi-residential business. They will have a mandate to develop programs, processes, policies and standard operating procedures to support the rapid onboarding of new units and the building out of the team. In this highly collaborative environment, the Director will work closely with leasing, marketing, construction and development teams all focused on creating exceptional Resident experiences.


The ideal candidate is an experienced property management leader with a proven track record leading teams, building best practices and SOP’s, and driving world-class resident or customer experiences. Specific experience in multi-residential properties would be ideal but parallel experience in hospitality operations will be considered. Experience launching and operationalizing new properties would be a significant asset. Innovative, ambitious, and results oriented, the successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment where they enjoy building and implementing systems at scale as well as building culture and relationships.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $140,000-160,000 plus bonus and benefits but may vary based on the successful candidate.
