About this opportunity:

Are you a current 3rd year or 4th year PhD student in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science who would like to join a software development team responsible for developing and testing RAN virtualized digital unit software? Do you like to help simulating, designing, and implementing for Cloud Radio Access Networks? We have an exciting opportunity for you in a fast-paced, highly collaborative technical environment.

What you will do:

  • Develop new RRM functions such as beamforming, massive MIMO, carrier aggregation, dynamic spectrum sharing, scheduling, link adaptation, and power optimization
  • Perform system-level simulations
  • Develop and run domain-level test cases for NR Scheduler and 3GPP Standards related to MAC, RLC, PDCP
  • Troubleshooting BB scheduler and L2 stack
  • Perform EDA and characteristic analysis on lab and simulation data
  • Develop AI powered RRM features
  • Contribute to Innovation and Ericsson IPR by filing invention disclosures and Patents

While your main focus will be on SW development, you will also learn about 5G and 6G wireless technologies.

The skills you bring:

  • Current enrollment as a 3rd or 4th year PhD student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong publication track record
  • Proficiency in C++ and Java
  • Familiarity with Julia, Python, MATLAB, bash, Linux OS
  • Prior experience with software content management tools such as Git
  • Good understanding of object-oriented programming, wireless communication, and IP Networking
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in international and multi-site teams
  • Strong can-do attitude
