About the role

The Finance Business Partner will provide our real estate team with finance support. You will be working closely with the Finance Team lead, Director of Development, Asset Management, and the Head of the Real Estate Group. Your main responsibilities are providing strategic and long-term financial planning support, working with cross-functional teams for budgeting and planning, building strong partnerships with stakeholders, obtaining financing, and risk management. The ideal candidate is creative and innovative with an analytical mindset.


The annual salary range for this position is $100,000-$140,000.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide strategic and long-term financial planning support to the development team.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with budget holders and senior managers.
  • Provide necessary assistance and professional advice to support their financial responsibilities.
  • Serve as the focal point for complex financial queries, providing advice to stakeholders.
  • Analyze new land or rental acquisitions as needed.
  • Deliver competitor analysis, market trends, and associated commentary to the Leadership team.
  • Inform decision-making and play a partner/challenger role in evaluating business plans and cases.
  • Prepare business cases to support new investments, strategic decisions, and other business initiatives.
  • Act as the finance lead or participate in projects as required.
  • Support the capital management of the real estate group, including obtaining financing, cash forecasting, etc.
  • Working with operational teams through the planning and budgeting process to create operational plans with financial implications clearly communicated.
  • Generating new insights from internal and external data to drive business results to new heights.
  • Participate in risk management planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Communicate results and recommendations to management for cost reduction, revenue generation, and operational streamlining.
  • Leading or participating in value added ad hoc projects, including process improvements, implementation, and analysis of KPIs and implementation of technology solutions.


What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar or operational role.
  • Business Degree with a strong knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • CPA designation preferred (or working toward).
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
