Convergint is looking for a full-time, team-oriented, results-driven HVAC/R Mechanic, as applications are open to 3rd or 4th Year Apprentices, or Journeyperson(s), to join our amazing culture at our Calgary location. As a HVAC/R Mechanic, you will be responsible for the service & maintenance of equipment and systems for the purpose of providing comfort and indoor air quality.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”
- Service & Maintenance of heating/air conditioning/refrigeration equipment and systems for the purpose of providing comfort and indoor air quality.
- Inspect systems and their components (e.g. roof top units, air handling units, restaurant /refrigeration equipment, make-up air units, exhaust fans, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper efficient operation of equipment.
- Respond to service and warranty calls and repair failed components in a timely and efficient manner to support facility and tenant needs.
- Prepare documentation (e.g. records of refrigerants, paperwork, logs, time and materials, specifications, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support in compliance with regulations and/or conveying information to customer on work performed.
- Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning HVAC equipment.
- Provide HVAC support to end users when applicable. Seek guidance from more experience staff for difficult and unusual situations.
- Use HVAC knowledge, skills and experience to act as mentor for less experienced staff. May provide guidance to workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Customer Focus – Maintaining awareness of and seeking to meet of the needs and wants of the customer
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Initiative – Engages in proactive behavior and looks for new project opportunities
- Adaptability – Responds effectively to changes in situation or information
- Strong financial analytical skills including cost control
- Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Power Point skills
- For Apprentices; completion of 2nd, or 3rd Year Apprenticeship.
- For Journeyperson(s); 5-7 years' service experience in a commercial environment.
