Job Description: The Resort Services Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the coordination and execution of all events and activities managed by the Resort Services Department, as well as providing support in various operational aspects of the resort. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences in a dynamic environment.
Position Requirements/Skills:
- Proven self-motivation and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Comfortable with public speaking and hosting events
- Previous experience in event planning and execution
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
- Flexible availability, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- British Columbian Driver’s License or willingness to obtain
- Previous manual labor experience is an asset
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Resort Activity Services Manager to plan, organize, and execute weekly and seasonal events, ensuring they align with the resort's standards and objectives
- Oversee the setup, execution, and teardown of all events, including but not limited to Bingo, Carnival, Tubing with the Moose, Moose Cruz, Christmas festivities, and New Year’s celebrations
- Supervise the daily activities of the Operations Team to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to established procedures
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance to staff, including training and development initiatives
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as invoicing, inventory management and staff assignments
- Conduct mascot appearances as required during events and day-to-day resort operations
- Maintain inventory and control event supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times
- Collaborate closely with all resort departments to ensure seamless event delivery and guest satisfaction
- Set up and maintain audio equipment for events, groups, and mountain requirements
- Support in the development of new and engaging event concepts to enhance guest experiences
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness, perform routine building maintenance, and provide comprehensive support to guests, prioritizing their safety and satisfaction at all times
- Ensure the timely and efficient removal of snow and ice is maintained and documented to uphold the safety standards for resort areas for guests and staff
- Monitor and restock supplies in common areas, ensuring all amenities are available and clean at all times
- Uphold and enforce all department and company policies and procedures
- Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as required by management
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit, stand, and lift heavy objects for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Perform manual tasks such as kneeling, bending, stooping, and squatting
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including cold temperatures and snow
- Requires grasping, using tools, writing, standing, sitting, repetitive motions, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity
