Airswift is seeking a Cost Estimator to work for one of our oil and gas clients in Calgary, AB on a 1-year contract.
The Cost Estimator will perform cost estimate preparation for all Gate and Funding milestones for portfolio projects <$500M. They are expected to participate in Estimating Group process efficiency tools and quality assurance review process improvements.

The Cost Estimator will perform cost estimate preparation for all Gate and Funding milestones for portfolio projects <$500M. They are expected to participate in Estimating Group process efficiency tools and quality assurance review process improvements.
Tasks And Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing cost estimates
- Engages with project team and functional team, including planner and scheduler and integrated project teams
- Assist in development of C&SE deliverables (includes Cost and Schedule Estimate, estimate basis documents, Benchmarking analysis, s, etc. )
- Previous oil and gas cost estimating experience
- Strong technical mentoring skills
- Strong cost estimating skillset, including industry programs (e.g., ASPEN, etc.)
- Identify capital efficiency opportunities and risks on projects
- Some travel within Alberta may be required
- Drives and promotes capital efficiency on projects being stewarded by the department
- Advanced level proficiency in Cost Estimating
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management or equivalent professional experience
- 15+ years’ of experience working on projects
- Previous upstream / downstream / manufacturing / refining / midstream cost estimating experience
- Skills to negotiate and broker successful solutions between Internal Coordination parties above
- Ability to work well with many team members distributed across different sites/time zones
- May assist with projects across Canada, potential for wide-variety of projects across Imperials' assets, though focus would be on refinery projects in Ontario
- Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills
- Adaptability to changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and effectively manage cross-functional activities
- Ability to multitask and respond quickly to urgent analysis requests
