Location – Mississauga, ON

Candu Energy Inc. is looking for an experienced Level 3 Quality Control Inspectors for Tools, Manufacturing and Field Services. If you have a minimum of Five years’ experience working in a production environment performing receiving Inspection and in process and final inspections, then we are waiting to hear back from you.

Your Role Within The Team

  • Ensure that receiving material is manufactured and supplied to Candu Energy approved drawings, specifications, procedures and Inspection Test Plans, Purchase Orders, etc.
  • Prepare QC Incoming Inspection Report, CFSI Checklist, and Customer supplier Information record.
  • Prepare ASME Section III material checklist for review and approval.
  • Apply and identify tagging to the inspected items/material to maintain inspection status.
  • Certify and date all control points on Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and Route Sheet.
  • Perform on site and field verifications and witness activities as required by the inspection and testing documents.
  • Verify that all required inspection activities are complete, and the results are acceptable.
  • Review and sign off Metrology Certificates of Measurement for components produced in house.
  • Prepare History Docket, Document Package and History File as required.
  • Review and verify MTR and CMTR as per code requirements.
  • Perform detailed review of purchase order referenced as per codes and standards, technical specifications and quality requirements of product being supplied, prior to undertaking source surveillance.
  • Perform in-process and final inspection activities by detailed review of applicable codes and standards, documents and drawings and inspection results (including NDE reports, heat treatments, coating, welding procedures, etc.), to ensure that product meeting purchase order, drawings, technical specification and codes and standards, etc., requirements.
  • Ensure packaging and shipping instructions comply with customer purchase order requirements.
  • Review History Files/History Dockets and documentation package against purchase order, technical specification, terms and conditions, codes and standards, and quality requirements
  • Provide input in resolving product acceptance problems through evaluation of codes and standards and specifications and recommend solutions as part of dispositioning non-conformance (ProAct, NIR, NCR, DDR, CAS, etc.)
  • Prepare quality inspection reports to keep client and Candu staff informed of quality matters and work progress and collaborate with Quality team and project team to achieve project milestones.
  • Verify dimensional inspection and metrology measurement reports on supplier produced components and Candu manufactured parts in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Perform visual inspection and QA release.
  • Attend Safety meetings, QA and Project updates as required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant degree in Engineering or Diploma from a university or College of recognized standing or equivalent technical education/experience.
  • Working knowledge of design drafting (i.e., be able to read and understand design drawings/blueprint and technical documents).
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience as Quality Control Inspector in manufacturing and special processes or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Acrobat/PDF and Excel.
  • Good understanding of quality management principles and concepts.
  • Working knowledge of project management, nuclear QA standards (CSA N299 CSA N286-12, CSA N285.0, ASTM, ASME, CSA B51, etc).
  • Must be able to work at various work locations in both field and office (possible to international locations).
  • Must be able to work in rotating shifts including nights.
  • Working knowledge of welding is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
