About The Role
The Plumber will be responsible for maintaining plant piping, including troubleshooting and emergency repairs. As a member of our Central Maintenance team they will also be involved in new installations, construction and renovations.

About The Role
The Plumber will be responsible for maintaining plant piping, including troubleshooting and emergency repairs. As a member of our Central Maintenance team they will also be involved in new installations, construction and renovations.

- Performing skilled journeyperson level work involving preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of systems and projects, as well as troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Read drawings, blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Replacing taps, valves, strainers, steam traps, back-flow preventers, etc.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe for replacement or new installations; fit and caulk joints.
- Thaw out frozen pipes, unplug clogged drainage and sanitary systems; repair leaking water pipes, sinks, toilets, etc.
- Perform work on various pipe systems, including sewage, water, gas, and waste water.
- Assist Maintenance in emergency repairs and other Trades as necessary.
- Provide oversight and guidance to Apprentice Plumbers. Apprentice Plumbers complete all duties of a Plumber under the guidance of a Licensed Plumber.
- 306A Plumbing License
- Knowledge of gas tickets, plumbing code rules, etc
- Ability to work from schematics, drawings and prints when troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of OSHA, WHIMIS. Knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc) is an asset.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
