Purpose Of Position

Product Marketing at OpenText is the heart of the marketing organization, developing compelling, powerful, value-based messaging that resonates with prospects, customers and partners. Our Product Marketers are the bridge between Engineering, Product Management, Industry, Customer and Technical Marketing, Sales, Presales and the broader Marketing team, ensuring collaboration, consistency and cross-functional engagement. It is a strategic and collaborative team that brings our solutions to market and differentiates OpenText from the competition.

Role Overview

This Senior Product Marketing Manager will support go-to-market for OpenText Knowledge Discovery and additional AI. The Senior PMM is responsible for product positioning, solution development and messaging. Reporting to the Director, Product Marketing, this individual will focus on developing value-based messaging for target buying centers to support creation of content, enablement, and demand generation campaigns and programs to drive new customer acquisition and expansion within the customer base. This is a global role with responsibility to develop and adapt strategies and messages for different regions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop concise, compelling messaging and positioning that emphasizes the business value of OpenText Knowledge Discovery for multiple target audiences and industries, as well as other AI content management and other products in the OpenText Content Cloud portfolio
  • Serve as the product evangelist and communicate product value across all internal and external channels, including sales, partners, media, industry analysts; present at customer and industry events; and on digital channels such as webinars, blogs, and social media
  • Collaborate with demand generation teams, utilizing data and insights to create and improve strategies that drive marketing-sourced pipeline and contribute to BU revenue growth
  • Work with internal resources and external agencies to create compelling content to support lead generation, nurture programs, sales and partner enablement, web content and funnel optimization programs (i.e., slide decks, blogs, eBooks, success stories, videos, etc.)
  • Ensure overall sales channel readiness through sales and partner enablement activities
  • Drive growth by architecting sales plays and motions designed to build a sales pipeline around areas of opportunity for cross-sell, upsell, upgrade and modernization
  • Monitor the competitive landscape to define product positioning that differentiates OpenText, its products and services, within the marketplace
  • Maintain competitive resources such as battlecards, wikis and enablement presentations
  • Identify and capture market and competitor trends to support sales and provide input on product direction
  • Plan and execute quarterly product launches and releases in coordination with Product Management and Engineering, which may include strategies targeting new customers for OpenText
  • Acquire and understand customer input and market data leveraging user groups, industry events and analyst relations to serve as an expert on the content services market and our target buyers and industries
  • Align with Content Cloud PMM and R&D leaders to identify and package capabilities into new solutions to meet current and emerging customer needs and position OpenText in new markets

Requirements

  • Experience in enterprise software, preferably with a focus on Content Services (enterprise content management) or other enterprise technologies such as BPM, ERP or HCM
  • Experience in intelligent systems utilizing AI, machine-learning, statistical categorization and prediction algorithms to deliver decision-support and advanced data access on either structured or unstructured data
  • Ideally, should have experience in the knowledge management market; example experience of interest includes Autonomy IDOL, Microsoft SharePoint, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Copilot, or platforms focused on full text search, text categorization and classification. Also interested in experience in data privacy, sensitive data identification and management, and information governance
  • At least 8 years of professional experience with at least 3 years in a Product Marketing function;
  • Highly autonomous, understanding how to prioritize and differentiate what matters from the noise, independently driving projects from conception through to completion; should be comfortable with frequent changing priorities, and have a bias for action with a focus on driving to a final, effective outcome
  • Demonstrated success in enabling large, global sales teams to clearly articulate value and differentiation
  • Great interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to forge trusting relationships across a diverse team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong content marketer; must be able to write compelling marketing copy in short and long-form, including blogs, product overviews, white papers, speaking scripts, press releases, and more
  • Skilled in leading presentations and discussions with business, technical, and sales stakeholders
  • Aptitude for technology and the ability to connect technical concepts with customer value
  • Proficient in usage of Microsoft 365 productivity tools including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Must be able to maintain, improve, and produce on-brand and professional Microsoft PowerPoint sufficient for delivering conference keynotes, breakout sessions, executive briefings, and industry analyst briefings
