Responsibilities
- Participate in business valuations, intellectual property valuations, fairness opinions, financial modelling and purchase price allocations to help clients understand the value of their business and its components
- Assist in the evaluation of the commercial benefits and risks of potential mergers and acquisitions and provide strategic advice to parties regarding divestiture and merger and acquisition execution
- Conduct industry and market research on trends, valuation multiples for relevant public companies and precedent transactions
- Prepare cash flows, valuation models and other technical based analysis, projections and forecasts
- Support the design and development of high-quality deliverables including engagement letters, reports, presentations and correspondence relating to merger, acquisition and financing transactions
- Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met, and grow and develop relationships
- Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals
- Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting or finance major) is required
- 1 to 3 years of proven professional services experience, ideally in financial analysis and valuations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse and geographically dispersed group
- Demonstrated ability to build strong collaborative business and technology relationships
- Proven experience in learning new technologies and tools at a rapid pace
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work independently on multiple simultaneous initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively seeks opportunities to help the team produce client deliverables
- Willing to enroll in the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) program is an asset
- Willing to enroll in the CPA program is an asset
