Position Summary
Manager Human Resources Operations
Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, the Manager, HR Operations will support the coordination and execution of HR strategy, services, policies, and programs for manufacturing operations in Calgary and Victoria. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to their assigned client group, direct reports, and peers to ensure effective and aligned delivery of HR services.
This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity and complexity, and drive process improvement while balancing a wide range of priorities. Strong communication and organizational skills, combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving and team collaboration, are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team.
- Ensure consistent implementation and enforcement of HR policies and programs across the organization.
- Support the development of workforce plans that meet current and future resourcing needs.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide full-cycle recruitment support, including strategy development, direct sourcing and reporting.
- Provide HR resource reporting and act as HR representation in weekly program review meetings.
- Drive employee engagement by executing surveys, communicating results, and developing follow-up action plans aligned with strategic objectives.
- Coach and mentor management team members to build leadership capability.
- Lead execution of core HR programs including performance management, compensation cycles, succession planning, and workforce planning.
- Ensure disciplinary processes are compliant with internal policies and external legal requirements.
- Act as a key partner in organizational design to ensure departments are structured for efficiency and effectiveness with the right capabilities in place.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver training, advisory services, and other HR programs that support business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPHR designation is an asset).
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within HR operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Proven track record in team leadership, development, and operational execution.
- Proficiency in HR technologies and systems.
- Solid business acumen and understanding of HR’s role as a service provider to operations.
- High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to interpret HR data and trends.
- Tech-savvy, with a focus on leveraging tools to increase productivity and improve service delivery.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Innovative thinker with a collaborative approach to solving complex business challenges.
