Saturn has an opportunity for a full time Supervisor, Royalties & Regulatory based in the Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Controller, some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Supervisor, Royalties & Regulatory include, but are not limited to:

Saturn has an opportunity for a full time Supervisor, Royalties & Regulatory based in the Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Controller, some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Supervisor, Royalties & Regulatory include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise and participate-in the activities of the Royalty and Regulatory team responsible for Alberta and Saskatchewan crown and non-crown royalty management, gas cost allowance, IOGC, compensatory and NPI royalties as well as freehold mineral tax, C* reporting and Saskatchewan surcharge calculations.
- Oversee recording of royalty income from third parties and the royalty accrual process.
- Review and approve the non-crown royalty cheque run
- File monthly Saskatchewan Fuel Tax returns
- Perform marketing accounting entries for pooling agreements.
- Reconcile and file all T5- and NR4-related reporting requirements.
- Oversee royalty setups on all new wells and manage changes to existing royalties.
- Assist with research, analysis and reporting as required
- Perform monthly account reconciliations
- Review and post royalty team’s entries in Qbyte and complete correcting journal entries as required.
- Assist treasury function with cash forecasting as it pertains to royalty income and payments.
- Ensure that vendor queries and audit inquiries are satisfied in an appropriate timeframe.
- Complete the annual EVAP process including presenting to management and uploading submissions.
- Work within a highly structured deadline driven environment
- Other responsibilities as directed by the Controller
- Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts is a must, post-secondary education and previous leadership experience in Oil & Gas production or royalty accounting environment preferred
- Accounting degree or designation preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of royalty encumbrances, royalty relief programs, and remittance obligations
- Systems experience with Qbyte FM, CS Land, Metrix, EDI Viewer and good working knowledge of Petrinex and Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly communicate thoughts on complex issues
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
- Take direction and follow through in a timely and professional manner.
