A s a Safe Mobility Clerk, yo u will play a crucial role in supporting the Safe Mobility section's public-facing initiatives, including the Vision Zero Street Labs and Safe Speeds Toolkit programs. You will be the primary point of contact for public inquiries via email and 311, ensuring consistent and helpful responses. Your responsibilities will involve coordinating logistics for public projects, ordering materials, and navigating internal processes on behalf of the public. This position requires a collaborative spirit, as you will work closely with Community Activators and the Section Administration Clerk to maintain consistent public communication and support the overall goals of the Safe Mobility Strategy.

Up to 3 temporary full-time positions for up to 11 months
Hours of Work: (2) positions at 33.75 hours per week & (1) position at 40 hours per week

You will be the primary point of contact for public inquiries via email and 311, ensuring consistent and helpful responses. Your responsibilities will involve coordinating logistics for public projects, ordering materials, and navigating internal processes on behalf of the public. This position requires a collaborative spirit, as you will work closely with Community Activators and the Section Administration Clerk to maintain consistent public communication and support the overall goals of the Safe Mobility Strategy.
What will you do?
- Manage intake programs for Vision Zero Street Labs and Safe Speeds Toolkit, including ordering materials, signage, and supplies, and tracking project status
- Support the planning and implementation of special events, outreach initiatives, demonstrations, and education sessions for various audiences, including logistical and event management
- Act as the section's main contact for 311 inquiries, managing scripts and resolving issues
- Manage the section's public email addresses and coordinate public website updates
- Maintain the Safe Mobility Section Standard Response Document in collaboration with the Section Administration Clerk
- Format various documents, proofread reports, and maintain files in accordance with corporate records management procedures
- Coordinate large-scale meetings, book facilities, and take minutes as required
- Coordinate and assist in the development of jurisdictional scans and evaluation plans
- Other duties as required
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing OR;
- Completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college
- A minimum of two (2) years of diversified word and information processing experience
- Experience with Google applications is required
- Experience in a public-facing role dealing with diverse inquiries
- Familiarity with traffic safety initiatives or urban planning concepts
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to develop contacts and networks
- Ability to build and maintain trust with clients and work effectively with stakeholders and committees
- Ability to respond to difficult situations and resolve conflicts
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results with a consistent respectful and inclusive style
- Ability to self-motivate and work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Google Suite
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple, frequent, and conflicting requests
- Ability to work on fast-moving projects with multiple inputs and changing deadlines

- Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position. There may be a cost associated with this requirement
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
- This position operates in an office environment, primarily involving sitting, standing/walking, lifting up to 10 lbs, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and reaching. The role may also involve some light effort physical demands. The work requires navigating multiple, frequent, and often conflicting requests and dealing with large volumes of information. It involves significant public interaction, which can include dealing with difficult people, and requires sensitivity to public perception on high-profile projects

- 33.75 hours per week: $25.172 - $31.257 (Hourly)
- 40 hours per week: $23.787 - $29.534 (Hourly)
