Objective
We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Associate Category Manager to join our dynamic Sales Strategy team. The ideal candidate will be adept at using syndicated POS and shopper insights to drive Category Management strategic decisions. This will involve leading the development of reports, dashboards, monitoring sales performance of Key Accounts and ensuring data integrity. The role is also pivotal in providing support for customer business reviews. The Associate Category Manager will also directly deliver business reviews and recommendations to accounts under his/her responsibility in a customer facing capacity.

Objective
We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Associate Category Manager to join our dynamic Sales Strategy team. The ideal candidate will be adept at using syndicated POS and shopper insights to drive Category Management strategic decisions. This will involve leading the development of reports, dashboards, monitoring sales performance of Key Accounts and ensuring data integrity. The role is also pivotal in providing support for customer business reviews. The Associate Category Manager will also directly deliver business reviews and recommendations to accounts under his/her responsibility in a customer facing capacity.
Key responsaibilities
- Lead and support the use of all analytic tools as well as design KPI’s tracking reports, dashboards and interactive analysis tools to monitor progress and support our Sales, Sales Strategy and Marketing teams
- Create and maintain category management tools that help identify business opportunities, risks, performance gaps (ie. distribution, assortment mix, sales performance etc.) and provide recommendations
- Analyze Bel & competitor POS Sales and key metrics variances in the reporting to provide timely insights to the business
- Drive Category business review process efficiencies leveraging analytical tools to automate customer PowerPoint presentations for all retailer accounts where applicable
- Apply critical thinking to elevate analyses beyond reporting and translate insight into retail action to help grow Bel business with customers
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance category management efficiency and effectiveness
- Interpret complex business data and develop fact-based recommendations that support achievement of both the retailer and Bel sales and profit objectives for the accounts under his/her direct responsibility (assortment mix, promotional efficiency, planogram analysis, etc.)
- Work in partnership with the KAM for the accounts under his/her responsibility to prepare business reviews and deliver compelling stories to retailer category buyers
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing to identify opportunities and create sales stories to influence customer decision-making on innovations
- Involved in the monthly brands performance review in partnership with Marketing and the Consumer Insights team
- Accountable for Nielsen data integrity by periodically ensuring product item lines are classified correctly in the system
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support to Category Managers in their customer presentations, internal stakeholders and Sales management
- Co-lead with Trade Marketing the “Bel 101 and Commercial Guidelines” annual update with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Trade Marketing, Retail Excellence and RGM)
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing and/or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a category management, sales analyses or related role preferably within the CPG/FMCG or food industry
- Previous experience in category insights and direct account responsibility is an asset
- Proficiency manipulating sales data
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking, able to synthesize information to develop understanding and insights
- Attention to details in data analysis and reporting
- Independent, dynamic person with excellent teamwork skills
- Excellent time management and priority-setting skills, able to multi-task effectively
- An excellent understanding of technology (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Business intelligence software such as Power BI is an asset
- Expertise leveraging and maximizing the usage of all internal and external data sources including Nielsen, Homescan, Numerator, customer POS (Circana/IRI, LDIA, Numerator, Retail Link, Toolbox, etc.)
- Proficient written and spoken English and French required
