Service Responsibilities
Your role will be filled with opportunities to create memorable customer experiences and drive service excellence. You will:
- Lead successful Service Department operations by building, managing, motivating, and retaining a strong Service team.
- Establish processes and standards to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations while controlling costs.
- Gain new service customers while retaining our existing customer base.
- Instill dealership/brand loyalty by ensuring an exceptional customer service experience for all customers.
- Handle escalated customer complaints effectively.
- Actively manage and improve on all measured performance indicators, including gross sales, profitability, loyalty, and CSI.
- Prepare, administer, and adhere to the annual operating budget for the Service Department.
- Manage a high-performance team of Service Advisors and Technicians to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
- Keep up-to-date with training for all staff within manufacturers and trade guidelines.
- Maintain positive working relationships with manufacturer's representatives.
- Administer warranty claims and communicate warranty information and clarifications to customers.
- Ensure an efficient workshop by holding weekly meetings with staff using Lean principles.
- Perform annual and quarterly reviews with staff using the 4:1 ratio.
- Develop effective service marketing campaigns with the digital media coordinator.
- Direct procurement of all company-owned automotive shop equipment.
In managing the Parts Department, you play a crucial role in building the backbone of our operations:
- Ensure parts sales targets are met and coordinate parts marketing efforts.
- Maintain tight inventory control for consistent delivery of parts and minimize obsolescence.
- Balance inventory to meet Service Department requirements, wholesale accounts, and over-counter sales.
- Comply with manufacturers' warranty ordering and return policies.
- Forecast and track monthly sales and profit objectives, and compile monthly management reports.
- Responsible for department profitability through revenue generation and cost control.
- Hire, train, motivate, and monitor the performance of all Parts Department staff.
- Stay updated with training within manufacturer's guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
Our ideal candidate radiates leadership strength and automotive passion, marked by the following qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Automotive Parts Manager or Assistant Parts Manager.
- Minimum 3 years of Service Management experience with a proven track record in service and customer satisfaction.
- College Diploma or Trade School Certificate in Automotive Studies, or equivalent.
- Proficiency with PC-based software and Dealer Management systems.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate a results-oriented team.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, technical and mechanical repairs, and products.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to handle and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
