Reporting to the Director, Inventory and supporting warehouses and branches nationally, Master is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Inventory Operations Manager to lead our inventory management strategy and execution. This role will be pivotal in driving significant strategic initiatives, including the implementation of SAP, standardization of daily operational procedures, and the development of a more robust inventory classification system. Beyond strategic projects, the Inventory Operations Manager will be responsible for the daily monitoring of inventory health, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal stock levels to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and a proven track record in project management within a complex inventory environment.
SAP Implementation Lead
What you will accomplish with us:
Serve as the primary inventory lead for the successful implementation of SAP, focusing on the inventory management modules (e.g., MM, WM).
Collaborate closely with IT, finance, procurement, and other stakeholders to define requirements, configure the system, and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT).
Develop and deliver training programs for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of the new SAP system.
Drive data migration strategies and ensure data integrity within the new SAP environment.
Standardization Of Daily Operations
Analyze current inventory processes (receiving, put-away, picking, shipping, cycle counting, returns, etc.) to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Develop, document, and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) across all inventory-related activities.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for daily operations and monitor performance against targets, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the inventory team.
Clearer Inventory Classification
Lead the initiative to re-evaluate and refine our inventory classification system (e.g., ABC analysis, demand-based classification, criticality).
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product development to ensure classification aligns with business needs and supply chain strategies.
Implement new classification methodologies within our systems (including SAP post-implementation) to optimize inventory planning, storage, and material handling
Inventory Accuracy & Integrity
Oversee and enhance cycle counting programs and physical inventory processes to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
Monitor inventory data quality and integrity across all systems.
Ensure all inventory operations adhere to internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., safety, quality, environmental).
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard inventory assets.
Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits related to inventory.
Inventory Optimization
Monitor inventory levels, aging, and obsolescence, taking proactive steps to minimize excess and obsolete stock.
Collaborate with demand planning, procurement, and production to optimize inventory levels and support forecast accuracy.
Analyze inventory trends and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of inventory professionals.
Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
What You Bring To Our Team
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM) preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in inventory management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Proven experience with full-cycle SAP implementation projects (specifically MM, WM modules) is highly desirable and a significant asset.
Strong understanding of inventory control principles, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., cycle counting, ABC analysis, demand planning, warehousing).
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and standardize operational procedures.
Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems; experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Occasional travel may be required (Canada/US)
Bilingualism (French / English) - Need to interact regularly with our internal Master Group collaborators across the country and in the United States. After evaluation, it has been determined that no other solution can meet these professional obligations.
Compensation Information
Base salary: $110,000 to $120,000 per year
