Job Description
We are seeking a Software Developer in the Network Services Platform, to provide secure and efficient platform services in the areas of Kubernetes platform, security, authentication, messaging and databases in a cloud native environment. You will be responsible to provide the best technologies available in those areas, continuously analyze the existing systems, identify areas to improve, propose solutions and implement them. You will also assist and mentor members of the R&D community to help adopt and use those newest technologies.

About The Team
The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
We are seeking a Software Developer in the Network Services Platform, to provide secure and efficient platform services in the areas of Kubernetes platform, security, authentication, messaging and databases in a cloud native environment. You will be responsible to provide the best technologies available in those areas, continuously analyze the existing systems, identify areas to improve, propose solutions and implement them. You will also assist and mentor members of the R&D community to help adopt and use those newest technologies.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Researching and evaluating new technologies to improve our product portfolio
- Collaborating with Product Managers and Architects to define requirements for new features
- Designing and implementing new features
- Working in team-based Agile Environment
- Interacting with Nokia Support Teams to provide software solutions to field-reported issues
- At least 5+ years of proven programming experience
- Experience working with Linux, Docker, Vagrant, Git, GitLab, Gradle, Jenkins
- Proficiency in various programming languages (e.g. Java, Go, Python, Bash, Ansible, C, C++)
- Experience with security concepts: PKI, Certificates, TLS, Authentication
- Proficient in exploring, evaluating and integrating new technologies.
- Excellent at collaborating with cross-functional teams with a customer focus attitude
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Desire to continuously learn new technologies
- Expertise with Cloud Native principles and design patterns
- Experience with virtualization, containerization and orchestration (OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
- Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies and best practices
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Familiarity with OpenShift, GKE, or other k8s platforms
