This is a full-time, on-site role in Ottawa, Ontario.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our procurement team and contribute to our growing success.

The Junior Buyer will support the procurement function by managing purchase orders, sourcing materials, and maintaining supplier relationships. This role requires prior experience using SAP to ensure smooth procurement processes, accurate inventory tracking, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good negotiation skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Place and track purchase orders in SAP for raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed based on demand forecasts and MRP outputs.
  • Assist with supplier evaluations and maintain vendor master data in SAP.
  • Resolve issues related to purchase orders, shipments, invoices, or quality discrepancies.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the procurement function.
  • Generate and analyze procurement reports from SAP to assist in decision-making.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure material availability aligns with project timelines.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role, preferably in the electronics or manufacturing industry.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (MM module preferred) is required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Additional Requirements

  • Familiarity with electronic components and technical specifications is an asset.
  • Experience with international suppliers and import logistics.
  • Basic knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
