Bayshore is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Casual Health Care Aid to join our esteemed team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional care and support to our clients, while ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
Shift Requirements
- Location: Red Deer, Ponoka, and surrounding areas
- Day and Time: Open Availability from Friday (4:00 pm) to Tuesday (8:00 am)
- Guaranteed Hours: 25 hours biweekly
- Provide comprehensive homemaking services, including but not limited to cleaning, cooking, laundry, and general household management
- Offer companionship and accompany clients to community activities and events
- Administer personal care services to individuals with quadriplegia, including activities of daily living
- Assist with specialized care routines: bowel routines
- Safely assist with transfers (bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to bath, etc.) using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Ensure the emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort and safety of clients to the highest possible standard
- Perform specialized procedures for clients where training has been provided while demonstrating current competency
- Observe and document client conditions in line with company standards; promptly report any unusual events or changes in client condition to the Supervisor or Office
- Implement and adhere to infection prevention practices
- HCA Directory Registration in Alberta
- Negative TB Test from within the last 6 months
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector from within the last 6 months
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a dependable personal vehicle, with the ability to commute reliably in varying weather, including adverse winter conditions
- Strong knowledge of the principles of caregiving as well as well as customer service
- Able to communicate in spoken and written English; French proficiency will be deemed an asset
- Provide high-quality care services to clients with current knowledge of practices for community care
- Physically assist clients with movement and/or repositioning; able to lift 23 kgs., squat, bend, stand and reach
