Position Overview
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the ideal candidate will be a results-driven and operationally-oriented leader, combining strong strategic thinking with hands-on expertise. With a proven track record in leading the finance function of a fast-growing technology business through scale and growth, the CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future success.
The CFO will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team, providing critical financial and operational leadership. They will leverage their financial acumen, data analytics, and integrity to influence business strategy, optimize operations, and drive key financial goals.
As a trusted advisor to the company and Board, the CFO will lead the financial strategy, guiding budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring the successful execution of mergers, acquisitions, financings, and compliance activities. This individual will also build and scale financial processes, systems, and infrastructure, all while fostering a collaborative and high-performance finance team.
Role and Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, oversee ongoing financial forecasting and modeling, and manage the annual budgeting and planning process. Provide the CEO, leadership team, and Board with clear, actionable insights to achieve financial objectives.
Executive Leadership: Work directly with the C Suite and Departmental heads, to advise on financial budgets, planning and forecast models for long term success and growth.
Growth Advisory: Working with our CEO and Board of Directors to analyze, evaluate and provide strategic financial direction on growth strategy (organic or M&A)
Board Relationship and Management: Partner with the CEO to prepare agendas for Quarterly Board of Directors meetings, manage the meeting execution, and ensure effective communication, and budgeting and forecasting reporting. Maintain relationships with analysts, investors, and potential acquirers, supporting capital raises, M&A activities, and negotiations.
Cash & Risk Management: Oversee global cash management, maintain lending and banking relationships, cash forecasting, and financial obligations (including invoicing, credit, collections, purchasing, and bill payments). Conduct risk assessments, focusing on company liabilities and investments, ensuring a sustainable financial strategy.
Operational and Profitability Analysis: Analyze client, segment, and product line profitability, and identify opportunities for operational efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainable growth.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure the company adheres globally to all relevant financial regulations, tax codes, Accounting standards, and compliance requirements. Manage the company’s tax strategies.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, providing guidance on financial reporting, strategy execution, and process improvements. Attract, develop, and retain top financial talent.
Professional Qualifications
- Experience in a Growth Environment: Demonstrated experience as CFO for a company during a high growth or transformation period.
- Transaction Leadership: Ability to lead a company through transactions (M&A or IPO), ideally with previous experience in navigating M&A processes.
- Experience with Private Equity: Background in managing financial operations in a company with Private Equity funding.
- Industry Expertise: Strong background in the tech-enabled services or software industry, with in-depth knowledge of software revenue recognition practices and ecommerce and engagement.
- Financial Systems and Process Optimization: Expertise in implementing and managing financial systems and tools to drive clarity, decision-making, and process optimization within a rapidly growing company. Someone who is looking toward the future of finance and tooling.
- Leadership & Communication: A hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, capable of effectively communicating across all levels of the organization. Prioritizes integrity, trust, and the success of the company. Ability to build rapport with internal teams and external partners, including customers and investors.
- Customer Focus: A deep understanding of the customer experience and a commitment to aligning financial goals with customer-centric outcomes.
