Under the supervision of the Directors of Schools, the Early Career Teacher (ECT) Lead plays a key role in supporting the professional growth & development of early career teachers across ASD-N.

Responsibilities
- Develop and lead orientation and onboarding processes for new teachers (LTS, Contract C, and Contract D – Year 1).
- Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance for teachers in Years 1–3, supporting them in navigating challenges, improving instructional practices, and building professional confidence.
- Collaborate with administrators, subject coordinators, and instructional leads to ensure new teachers have access to curriculum resources, professional learning, and effective teaching models.
- Assist principals by conducting walkthroughs and gathering information to support formal evaluations of LTS, Contract C, and Contract D teachers.
- Support the Directors of Schools with onboarding processes for supply teachers.
- Represent ASD-N as an active member of the Provincial New Teacher Learning Community.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Work closely with Senior Administration on the development of an ASD-N Teacher Growth Process aimed to enhance teacher professional growth and overall effectiveness.
- Assist in developing a new Mentor Teacher Framework.
- A minimum of 8 years of teaching experience under a B contract
- Teaching experience at various grade levels (elementary and/or middle and/or high school)
- Principal’s Certificate
- Demonstrated leadership experience in formal or informal roles
- Master’s degree in Education
