What You Will Do

The Forestry Supervisor will be responsible for implementing the Forsite Health and Safety Program as well as assisting with scheduling, supervision, training, quality control, and leading a production field crew through various projects. Additionally, the Forestry Supervisor will support the operations lead in the preparation of project level budgets and plans and will work closely with other Forsite staff to effectively deliver projects.

Must Have

  • Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in forestry.
  • Registered with the FPBC as an RPF or RFT.
  • A minimum of 5 years of multiphase timber development project management in British Columbia.
  • Solid understanding of, and experience in, operational planning (cut block/road development processes).
  • Experience with Timber valuations and Timber cruising is preferred.
  • Experience using LiDAR for forest development planning would be an asset.
  • A strong understanding of the forest legislation, regulation and policy impacting forest planning and management in British Columbia.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Experience in managing crew logistics and provide supervision to the field crew.
  • Experience in budget forecasting and writing proposals will be considered as an asset
