THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the Journal Manager Serve, the incumbent should be able to produce and manipulate digital photographic images by means of scanning, color correction and cropping plots.

She or he will have to determine the best way to produce the desired visual effect and the best vehicle for communication.

She or he must know the principles and practices of graphic and multimedia design.

She or he will need to communicate with clients, supervisors and colleagues to determine the overall look, graphics and content of communication materials to meet their needs.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College Diploma or Certificate in graphic design, commercial art or graphic communication or a related field

AND

some years of experience in multimedia or a related field

Experience

In newspaper and publication design and layout

In MAC troubleshooting

In creating and producing graphic materials using a wide range of media, methods, techniques and equipment

In graphic design for the WWW

In using desktop publishing programs

In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing

Plan and create social media posts

Analyze the results and propose marketing solutions and strategies

Edit, manage and brand the pages of the corporate website.

Competencies

Bilingual (English and French) Essential

Other Information

Each applicant will be required to send a portfolio along with their application.

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
