Could you be the full-time Project Engineering Manager in Toronto, ON, we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering and system integration expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and dynamic teammates.

You'll play a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada's busiest public transit system while ensuring the successful delivery of world-class solutions. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (System Deployment & Integration, Corridor Sub-Systems, and Engineering), manage technical risks, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of system architecture, integration of sub-systems, and configuration management, but also lead technical activities to achieve customer acceptance.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Managing the technical contractual scope of the project in collaboration with the customer.
  • Ensuring performance and customer acceptance of the project solution.
  • Leading the deployment of the project solution and coordinating system activities until final acceptance.
  • Overseeing risk management and mitigation plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.
  • Driving the engineering strategy and chairing the Project Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Managing interfaces between sub-systems and third parties.
  • Coordinating the engineering team and allocating tasks effectively.
  • Supporting knowledge capitalization and promoting continuous learning within the team.

All About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific field.
  • P. Eng certification or in progress.
  • Experience in project deployment across the full lifecycle, including commissioning.
  • At least 5 years of experience working on signalling projects in a technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with functional or hierarchical team management.
  • Cost and planning control expertise within an engineering scope.
  • Strong customer relationship management in contractual settings.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience in product development and understanding of urban and mainline market segments (desirable).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset.
