Snowflake Developer

JOB TYPE: Independent Contractor | 1-Year Term

LOCATION: Vancouver, BC or Remote within Canada

Continuously innovating and implementing new technology, our IT Team maintains and supports all technologies including audio visual, hospitality and head office based systems while partnering with Operations to rollout, implement and update programs to ensure efficiencies.

YOU ARE:

• A motivated, detail-oriented problem solver with 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Strongly proficient in SQL, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experienced with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
• Familiar with ETL/ELT tools and processes; experience with AWS Glue is a plus.
• Skilled in working with Microsoft SQL Server, including querying, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient with BI and data visualization tools; familiarity with Sigma Computing is a plus.
• An excellent communicator with strong documentation skills.
• Proactive, results-oriented, and deadline-focused, with a continuous learning mindset.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, both independently and collaboratively.
• Holding relevant certifications (e.g., Snowflake, cloud certifications) is a plus.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performing data solutions leveraging Snowflake.
• Building and managing efficient data pipelines for ETL/ELT processes, to integrate data from various sources into the Snowflake data warehouse.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business data needs and requirements into effective solutions.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Snowflake environments to ensure data quality, performance, and security.
• Optimizing pipelines and query performance for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Documenting technical designs, processes, and solutions.
• Staying up to date with Snowflake features, cloud data warehousing advancements, and best practices.

WE WILL:

• Foster a fun culture that makes coming to work genuinely enjoyable
• Provide compensation between $135,000 to $165,000. The compensation package for this role takes various factors into consideration including market rates, experience, and qualifications
